Pictures from Arts Day

Once a year, Pontiac takes a school day to celebrate the different ways Art effects our lives… We call this Arts Day.

Today every student in our school participated in different art relate activities. In Fifth grade we watched a puppet show about Cinderella with a Salsa Flair by Grey Seal puppets, learned about percussion instruments from Matthew Jones, experienced the Storytelling of Barbara Montgomery, and laughed at a twisted fairy tale from Porkchop Productions.

It was a day packed with entertainment. Here are some highlights.

Another Science Study Game

I have seen many students enjoy and use the last study game I created, so based on demand I have made another to help folks study for our next test in Science.

Here’s a game on Waves, Currents and Tides.

Studying Ocean Vocabulary? Try this game

We have been working on learning about the ocean landforms since the end of the holidays. Looking over our last test grades, it is apparent we need to spend some more time working with vocabulary. This is not a favorite activity of students in my opinion, so I am trying to find a way to make this more interesting.

I heard about a site called classtools.net from some of the people I follow through Twitter, and decided to give it a shot. I have been letting students create their own games, and I am sharing a version of my own here.

Check it out, and test it. Let me know if this helps you study?
